EXECUTIVE SEARCH
Ford Thompson has over fifteen years of search
experience. This experience, plus our contacts in the various not for profit sectors enables us to employ a team-oriented, creative and thorough search.
Ford Thompson subscribes to honesty, enthusiasm, measurable results and frequent communications with our clients to foster a “team” relationship geared
towards success, client satisfaction, and a continuing working relationship. We will continue to work actively towards a satisfactory completion of each search assignment.
A Ford Thompson representative will take the time to meet the people involved in the selection process as well as all the people who relate directly to the
position for which the search is being conducted. Our experience shows us that communications flow better between people who have talked together early in the search process.
The executive search process is divided into three phases:
Phase One
- Research and identify prospective candidates through our central source files, personal contacts, responses to circulated position specification and consultations with senior officials of relevant associations and organizations;
- Screen prospective candidates against specifications by telephone; follow up with “face-to-face” interview, and submit full background information on
those who appear most qualified;
- Hold progress meeting to review prospective candidates — all backgrounds reviewed would be those of bona fide prospects who meet the professional requirements and have indicated specific interest in proceeding with discussions.
Phase Two
- Complete interviews with those prospective candidates not seen prior to progress meeting;
- Begin to introduce candidates to client management;
- Conduct detailed reference checks (preliminary ones having already been completed);
- Continue research.
Phase Three - The client will complete its interviews with final candidate(s) and begin its negotiations with the finalist. An offer should be extended at this time. Ford Thompson Consulting will help with negotiations and will intermediate between client and candidate(s) as necessary.
After the search is completed, Ford Thompson will maintain open lines of communication with the successful candidate and the organization. Should the
final candidate leave their employment, for any reason, for one (1) year from the date of employment, Ford Thompson will re-institute the search for out-of-pocket expenses only.
