Ford Thompson Consulting opened its doors in Atlanta as the Ford Thompson Company in 1984. Since the inception of the company, Ford Thompson has written and produced personalized planned giving support materials that are utilized in fund-raising offices across the country.

Larry J. Pauley, CFRE
Larry Pauley has thirty-five years’ experience in philanthropic fundraising. He organized Ford Thompson Consulting in 1984.
As a principal and Executive Vice President, he holds total accountability for all phases of daily operations and travels throughout the country to provide counsel to an extensive range of clients. Working closely with fundraising executives and board members at colleges, hospitals, and major not-for-profit organizations, Mr. Pauley’s activities include:

Mr. Pauley also serves as editor and publisher of the Professional Enrichment Series, used by many development offices nationwide. He is a frequent and sought-after lecturer at regional and national conferences for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the National Council for Planned Giving, and The American Red Cross, of which he has been a National Committee member, and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. He is a former director for the Tampa Chapter of the National Committee on Planned Giving.
Prior to organizing Ford Thompson Consulting, Mr. Pauley created a new division for the Merrill Anderson Company to develop national marketing programs for planned giving products and services. Before joining Merrill Anderson, he was Senior Vice President at Kennedy Sinclaire, a nationally-recognized marketing firm serving the trust departments of banks and non-profit organizations.
Before entering the field of philanthropy services, he held previous positions as Director of Marketing at ITT Financial Services and new business acquisition manager, office manager, and International internal auditor with The Associates Financial Group.
Mr. Pauley received a degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University and has completed advanced graduate work in estate planning, gift taxation and trust administration. He has achieved the CFRE designation from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
